In late 1990s Malaysia, Hong Im is a widowed farmer and ritual healer who is also a full-time defender of her land, family and sanity. By day, she resists land seizures. By night, she heals and exorcises, confronting things that the village would rather not explain. In Bujang Valley, history does not stay buried, and neither do the spirits.
