She's More Than Just "Mom"

A Story of Love, Strength and Silent Sacrifice

This heartfelt performance shines a light on the quiet power of mothers, the kind of love that holds everything together, even when no one is watching.

After The Legend of Kinabalu, choreographer Christopher Liew returns with a new work that is just as powerful, but far more intimate. This time the spotlight is on the everyday heroines among us, the women whose strength is rarely seen but always felt.

Inspired by the life of Mdm Kho So Kiaw, a mother raising four children alone, this performance invites us into a story of resilience, love and the countless small acts of caring that too often go unnoticed. It is not a story of grand gestures, but of quiet patience, of showing up every day, no matter how hard things get.

Told entirely through movement, this dance traces memories through time. It reaches back to childhood, moves through hardship, and emerges in a place of gratitude. Every gesture and step carries the weight of a mother's sacrifice and the tenderness of a bond that cannot be broken.

This Mother's Day, take an hour to sit with this story. It is a reminder of where many of us come from and a celebration of the love that asks nothing in return.
