A Visit to the Vanilla Farm in Kinarut

Discover the Story Behind Sabah's Vanilla

Organized by The Sabah Society, this educational visit takes you to an idyllic vanilla farm in Kinarut, just south of Kota Kinabalu.

The farm offers an in-depth look at one of the most beloved (and often misunderstood) spices on the planet.

This guided tour takes you on the journey of vanilla, from delicate orchids to aromatic beans. Learn how vanilla is grown, pollinated, harvested, and cured, as well as the steps involved in producing it sustainably right here in Sabah.

This tour offers a rare opportunity to see how vanilla is cultivated up close and to purchase beautifully crafted vanilla products.

The tour also touches on how vanilla farming operates as a small-scale agribusiness in Sabah. Those interested can ask questions about growing vanilla commercially or exploring future opportunities.

It's a sweet, down-to-earth experience. No fluff, just vines, beans, and real stories from the farm.

Please note that transportation is not provided, visitors must make their own way to the farm.
