Sendiri, an experimental dance duet

The Quiet Strength of Being Seen

Sendiri is an experimental dance duet by independent artists Nelson and ف (fa). Their work is grounded in honesty, rawness, and personal truth. This piece reflects their experiences pursuing art through emotional solitude, internal struggle, and unshakable devotion.

Though not entirely alone in their journeys, both dancers often found themselves facing pain, uncertainty, and isolation alone. Sendiri is their way of remembering, processing, and reaching out. A quiet offering to others walking a similar path.

Their movement language blends minimal, spontaneous, and emotionally charged choreography with elements from their individual styles. The duet explores themes of the trapped mind, mental health, and perseverance. A physical dialogue about seeking freedom despite constraint.

Created without access to professional staging or lighting and performed in a modest studio, Sendiri embraces the reality of making art with what is available. It is a testament to resilience, sincerity, and the belief that art matters, even when conditions are less than ideal.

At its core, Sendiri carries a quiet but powerful message:

Even when one must walk alone,
it does not mean they are unseen.
