Exhibition on Cocoa, Coffee and Sabah at Xoco Café

Slow art for slow sips

A new café opens its doors and we already feel comfortable, the kind of comfort that slows the day. There's the scent of warm chocolate, the sound of espresso brewing, and the tap of cups on saucers.

Xoco Café has invited local artists to display artwork inspired by cocoa, coffee, and the natural textures of Sabah. Around 30 pieces are displayed on the walls. There are cocoa browns, coffee blacks, and the green of wet jungle leaves after rain.

Order something warm. Sit comfortably, let the first sip settle, and then take your time. This exhibition rewards patience. Examine the surfaces closely. Follow the lines. Notice the small details, such as a brushstroke resting like crema on a cup of coffee.

You will leave feeling calm and recharged. The cup is empty, the room resets, and one image remains with you. This slow art form reminds us that good things grow with time, like a slow sip of coffee.
