Anime Scores with a Full Live Orchestra in KK

On Sunday 7 December 2025, the Kian Kok Middle School Hall in Kota Kinabalu will host the Borneo Anime Odyssey, a concert that will bring anime music from the screen to life in a symphonic performance.

For one evening only, the Jesselton Philharmonic Orchestra and the Jesselton Winds Orchestra will share the stage, performing soundtracks inspired by classics such as Studio Ghibli films, Pokémon, Violet Evergarden and Demon Slayer, among others. This is the first symphonic anime concert in Sabah, and it's not to be missed!

Designed for long-time anime fans and anyone who enjoys spectacular music, this concert promises to be an unforgettable experience. You will hear a mix of gentle themes, epic adventure moments and high-energy battle pieces drawn from anime, pop and contemporary soundtracks. The young musicians grew up watching these shows, so their performance will feel relaxed and warm, and close to the audience. Rather than a formal classical concert, the evening will feel more like a shared celebration of favourite anime stories.
