"Smell Like Curry" by Hindra Bose

A night of stand up, spices and sharp jokes

On 6 December 2025, D'ATAS BAR & GRILL will be hosting Smell Like Curry, a live stand-up comedy show featuring Hindra Bose, a comedian from Kuala Lumpur. The show starts at 8.30 pm in the upstairs room, where you will be close enough to see and hear everything.

Over the last few years, D'ATAS BAR & GRILL has quietly become the home of stand-up comedy in Kota Kinabalu. Most comedians come here to try out their best material, and audiences now expect line-ups filled with sharp, committed performers.

Hindra is one of KL's most recognisable stand-up comedians. He has the ability to transform an ordinary Malaysian day into a tale that makes the whole audience nod and laugh.
On stage, he switches between English, Malay, Tamil and sometimes Mandarin, so his jokes resonate with anyone who has grown up around our mix of languages, food and family chaos.

In Smell Like Curry, he brings together a series of stories in one tightly packed show, full of sharp jokes and small truths about everyday life, delivered with high energy, sharp timing and a lot of heart.

Tickets cost RM80, but are available at a discounted price if purchased before Saturday 29 November 2025. Early bird tickets come with a complimentary drink (1602 beer or juice), which is a great way to start a night of comedy. Seats are limited, so booking ahead is advisable.
