Coexistence, artist talk with Ayue Juman
The talk will be held in English and Malay.
A conversation behind the works
Coexistence is more than an artwork. It is a conversation about living ecology and women's voices, told through rattan weaving and the connections between nature, community, and people.
Join Ayue Juman for an artist talk to hear about the process and ideas behind her solo exhibition, and what these materials and relationships are trying to say.
This talk is part of Ayue Juman's solo exhibition Coexistence at Ruang Tamu Ekosistem. If you want the full context before you go, see the exhibition details here: Coexistence, solo exhibition by Ayue Juman.
Speaker
Ayue Juman is a sculptor from Tambunan, Sabah, with formal training in sculpture at UiTM Sarawak and UiTM Shah Alam. Working primarily with rattan, she creates sculptural forms rooted in local knowledge while speaking a contemporary visual language.
This talk offers a closer look at her process and the ideas behind her first solo exhibition.
