Gig A Blast is back! After a long break, this underground gig series is making a comeback. Vol. 5 is your ticket to a Saturday night spent somewhere loud, sweaty and offline.
There are eight bands on the bill, a mix of well known local underground names and newer bands, Just show up, find your spot, and let the lineup do the rest.
In terms of genre, get ready for a loud and sweaty blend of punk, ska punk, grunge and 1990s alternative, with a hint of metal and rock.
The kind of noise that does not ask permission.

Spotlight on a Few Artists
Bolos Ru Bulur
Bolos Ru Bulur, a dynamic seven-piece band from Tenom (Sabah, Malaysia), has been making waves since their first public performance in 2015.
Playing mostly rock music using traditional instruments (Sundatang, Sape Borneo, Gendang and Kulintangan), they create a captivating sound that transcends genres.
The band has always pushed boundaries, from experimenting with post-rock styles to infusing their music with the musical heritage of the Murut, an indigenous ethnic group of Borneo.
BOIL (Beyond Our Imagined Lives)
BOIL started out as a group of friends bonded by a shared love of Nirvana. That influence is still part of their DNA and you can still hear it in the grit, the tension, and the dynamics, but they did not stay in tribute mode for long. Over time they have grown into a band with their own identity, shaping that inspiration into something original. Today, they write and play their own grunge songs, loud and sincere, with a sound that is unmistakably theirs.
Krassuxan
Krassuxan is crusty raw punk, loud on purpose and sharp where it counts. The songs sneer at corruption and discrimination, turning anger into hooks that bite. No polish, no pleasantries, only grit, urgency, and a crooked grin aimed at anyone who cashes out the public trust.
Spinning Toxic
Born in '97, rocked the backyard, took a break 'til 2016. Back with new faces, hitting up Kota Kinabalu, Penampang, and Papar with raw energy. Living life through music, Spinning Toxic blends '90s alternative vibes (with a hint of metal) into their sonic concoction.
Departure
Fuelled by a love of music and a "do it yourself" spirit, they blend upbeat ska rhythms with the raw ferocity of punk. For them, making music is what keeps them going. See them live, and you'll understand.
